Adelaide's famous dead gum tree

If there is anything that has ruined this city more than heritage listings it would have to be left field Green party types. I don't know if the developers meant for this tree to die or if they did actually want it as a set piece, either way I wouldn't be surprised.

What I do know is that the developers found themselves being forced to consider the welfare of a tree by the local council and retarded locals.

Don't get me wrong though I do feel something for the tree. Maybe they could have built an enclosure around the tree and to the ceiling so it could still get its daily dose of unfiltered UV rays.

The tree soon after the redeveloped mall's opening in 2011.

Going.... going. A worker makes a start on the removal of the dead Burnside tree.

The Burnside Village gum tree has been cut down to a stump.
