9 year old girl sets fire to Adelaide store then skips away

I know what she did was bad but there is something about this story that makes me smile.

A little girl (9) sets fire to some cheaply made items at a discount store with a cigarette lighter and then skips away like any other young girl enjoying their childhood. Classic.

In total $100,000 in damage although it should be pointed out this was mostly water damage due to the sprinkler system doing its thing.

Water damage at the Ingle Farm Shopping Center reportedly cost about $100,000.

Police dog stabbed in Adelaide

If you live in SA you have probably heard of Koda the police dog.

Over the last 6 months or so he has helped police capture and arrest Adelaide's lowlifes.

Unfortunately last night he was stabbed by one of these lowlifes, right in the chest.

He is currently in a stable condition. Time will tell if he returns to duty.

Adelaide police dog Koda has made another arrest, with the apprehension of a suspect after a wild chase.

Photo: Police Dog Koda is now in a stable condition after being stabbed twice this morning at Elizabeth Vale. He is pictured here recovering after surgery. Thanks everyone for your concern and best wishes.

A man has been arrested and charged with numerous offences following several incidents at Elizabeth Vale this morning where a police dog was stabbed.
From about 7.30am this morning, Elizabeth Police were searching for a man allegedly armed with a knife who had tried to steal a car at Elizabeth South. A short later the same man allegedly broke into several homes at nearby Hogarth Road Elizabeth Vale. Police patrols with assistance of a police dog patrol located the armed man and he was pursued on foot over fences and through a nearby reserve. At the intersection of John Rice Avenue and Philip Highway police dog Koda was released by his handler to stop the armed man. Koda detained the suspect, who then allegedly stabbed the dog on two occasions. The armed man was then quickly restrained and arrested by police patrols. Police dog Koda a German Shepherd, was rushed to a nearby Vet by his handler and has since undergone emergency surgery and is now in a stable condition. The 30 year-old man from no fixed place, has been charged with attempt aggravated robbery, four counts of theft, aggravated serious criminal trespass after he broke into two homes, aggravated assault police, property damage and injure animal. The arrested man has been refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow

400 kilometer police pursuit through Adelaide

When I was a kid seeing high speed pursuits around Adelaide really excited me.

I once saw a crazed looking bogan in an old Ford XF Falcon station wagon fly through a large roundabout in the wrong direction completely freaking out the cops and other road users. The cops were so freaked out that they stopped and patiently waited for their turn at going through the roundabout letting the guy get really far away in heavy traffic.

Carjackings and pursuit offences have their court sequel

Adelaide's famous dead gum tree

If there is anything that has ruined this city more than heritage listings it would have to be left field Green party types. I don't know if the developers meant for this tree to die or if they did actually want it as a set piece, either way I wouldn't be surprised.

What I do know is that the developers found themselves being forced to consider the welfare of a tree by the local council and retarded locals.

Don't get me wrong though I do feel something for the tree. Maybe they could have built an enclosure around the tree and to the ceiling so it could still get its daily dose of unfiltered UV rays.

The tree soon after the redeveloped mall's opening in 2011.

Burnside Village Shopping Centre. The Burnside Tree.

Going.... going. A worker makes a start on the removal of the dead Burnside tree.

Adelaide's selfish peak hour drivers

I forgot about the arrogant Adelaidean drivers during peak hour in my rant about the road ragers the other day. These guys wont smash your face in but they will test your patience.

Bizarre arson attack in Adelaide

This is one of the weirdest events that I have heard about to have occurred in Adelaide.

Two men allegedly robbed a convenience store and then tied the shop assistant to a chair and set fire to the store whilst he was still in it.

WTF!

Adelaide: Athens of the south or Beirut of the south?

Police said two men in balaclavas tied up an attendant and set a store alight in Adelaide.

Ram raiding in Adelaide

A few years ago the Aboriginal "Gang of 49" were regularly in the news for their ram raiding efforts around Adelaide.

Since then this is probably the first I have heard of this type of break and enter.

This particular ram raid took place at a Semaphore butchers and their target was a Guide Dogs SA donation dog which I imagine must have been chock full of change to become the interest of ram raiders or they just wanted a big plastic Labrador for decoration.

Either way this is a deadset lowlife act.
