Goodbye for now

Unfortunately these will be the last posts for awhile.

In order to stay employed I will have to transfer over to the east coast.

I was planning on adding several new posts tonight most of which stretch back into Adelaide's sordid past, but it is now 2:30am and the next few days will be hectic.

I had actually found several dozen long forgotten stories, historical documents, people and places (like Magic Mountain RIP). All of these were very hard to find on the net and yet again shows that there is something very wrong when you cannot easily find the not so important and maybe embarrassing details of your city. All of the info is safely stored on my laptop for future use.

I will eventually complete everything. I really don't want this to end up like all of the other Adelaide centric website/blogs etc. that I have discovered trying to find weird Adelaide stories to post that have not been touched in years and are now abandoned.

I have actually found several more opinion pieces on Adelaide whilst I have been trying to put together my own. None of them have the depth that I want to convey. There is a lot wrong with this town (my opinion) if I could point out where it's going wrong maybe I can help in someway.

When I was a kid there was so much more here than what there currently is. It is really sad. Nothing will change here unless criticism is respected, understood and learnt from. The people that defend this city like raving dogs have really only held it back in the dark ages. This town almost needs a Gestapo styled agency to weed these people out and maybe relocate them to the desolate regions near Maralinga where they can't harm Adelaide anymore.

As of right now SA is heading into oblivion. I really mean that as well because the job I have has allowed me to hear about several upcoming blows to SA's economy that will cause a major loss of confidence in the state. Hopefully the info I have is flawed and nothing bad happens.

*Finger's crossed*

Another opinion piece on Adelaide

I am still trying to put together my opinion piece on Adelaide.

This author has done a very good job in conveying the issues facing Adelaide.

Remember the weird kids at school who were always picked on?

Another book recommendation: The Element of Need: Murder and Memory in Adelaide.

This is another book the I will endeavour to find.

I have actually visited several bookstores around Adelaide looking for the books already recommended but I was unsuccessful. I completely forgot the fact they have been decimated by online book sales.

So far I have read a very interesting review of this book. I have included the links below.

The reviewer appears unhappy about the author insinuating that Adelaide's horrific history of child sex abuse can be traced directly to sex-obsessed homosexual murderers. The moment I read that it made me want this book as this is an angle to the City of Corpses I have never considered. If you actually take the time to look into Adelaide's history there are several cases that this theory can be applied to directly.

Obviously making villains out of homosexuals will get you sent to the naughty corner and I suspect this is why I have never actually heard of anyone discussing this angle here in Adelaide.

Movie recommendation: Snowtown

When I saw this movie I was amazed that in some scenes they managed to make the locations look really good as in not decrepit which is how these areas usually look when you are actually visit there.

SA's public housing department in order to avoid grouping these people in "ghetto's" took the step some time ago to place people with serious issue's in and amongst normal conventional housing developments. The result of this is that you could end up next door to a psychopath or sociopath even if you are in a "good area". This is called social inclusion and as you can imagine sometimes there can be disastrous consequences.

The bodies in the barrels murders really put Adelaide on the map as the "City of Corpses: Home of the serial killer".

I  am certain that there will be more serial killers uncovered in Adelaide in the future. I have met so many people here that have struck me as psychotic and over the years I have learnt to trust my gut and literally turn the other way to avoid them. When I first moved here I wasn't used to it and wound up being verbally abused by these types of people quite a few times for simply making eye contact or even just saying hello. You never know with these people where things could go...

Adelaide paedophile attempts suicide in court

I  never realised that there are so many of these paedophile's are actually living in Adelaide until a couple of months ago.

I am not sure if this guy actually qualifies as a paedophile but owning child porno is just as bad in my mind.

It has been a massive problem in the past and appears to be continuing issue here.

Your kids are not even safe when they go to school apparently.

I am not even adding most of the stories about this horrifying issue in the blog and there are already too many on here. This will be the last.

Adelaide: Nuclear waste dump?

I read this article before this blog started and I was fascinated that rather than build a facility in SA's arid (and slightly irradiated) outback to store nuclear materials they decided to essentially leave it in storage facilities in and around Adelaide itself. This is the sort of thing that makes left wing Green types go crazy.

Adelaide Oval's tarpaulin roof damaged by wind

Lets hope this is a one off thing. Because for its half billion (maybe more) price tag you would think the roof would be able to withstand a bit of strong wind. The gusty weather yesterday wasn't even that bad compared the storms a few weeks ago.
